With New Years behind us, it’s time to gear up for Valentine’s Day! Generally the nail community sees super cute, romantic polish collections filled with pinks, reds, purples, hearts, and other Valentine-ish things. Well, five indie makers have collaborated to bring us something a little different – The Un-Valentine Collaboration Box!

This box contains 5 full size polishes from 77 Nail Lacquer, Turtle Tootsie Polishes, Glisten & Glow, Cupcake Polish, and Bear Pawlish each with a funny and satirical name. This collaboration box also comes with a sweet chocolate surprise, yum! 🙂

All swatches were taken under a combination of Cree daylight and LED bulbs using a Samsung NX300 camera.

77 Nail Lacquer – “I Love You, Not!”

First up is I Love You, Not! – a bright red jelly with iridescent and holographic micro glitters. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. I am so surprised at how great this polish covers. For a jelly polish, two coats for complete coverage is almost unheard of! It applies and controls very well plus the glitter distribution is great!

Love how the glitters peek through the red jelly base!

Turtle Tootsie Polishes – “It’s Not Me, It’s YOU!”

It’s Not Me, It’s YOU! is a pinkish purple linear holo with added iridescent flakes. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. Formula is great! I really digging the pink-purple shade of this polish and the added iridescent flakes are absolutely gorgeous!

The added flakes give this polish a lovely extra sparkle!

Glisten & Glow – “Single and Ready To Mingle”

Single and Ready To Mingle is a slightly green leaning blue intense holo with added pink and blue flash. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. This polish is so fantastic! Easily one of my favorite Glisten & Glow polishes to date!

This polish has got me like ❤ ❤ ❤

Cupcake Polish – “I Bought It Myself”

I Bought It Myself is a rose gold jelly base with rose gold and holographic micro glitters. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. I was super surprised yet excited to see a micro glitter from Cupcake Polish in this box! Just as I had hoped, application and coverage is perfect! I’m a sucker for anything rose gold and this polish is no exception!

I could stare at this macro all day!

Bear Pawlish – “Table For One”

Last up is Table For One – a unique black jelly holo with metallic red and holo micro glitters and added holo shards. Shown here is three coats plus top coat. I reached opacity in two coats but I added a third to darken the black base. Even though this polish is full of extra elements, it applies wonderfully! I really love the uniqueness of this polish! It’s like a fiery night sky! ❤

This polish is mesmerizing!

Overall Thoughts

 I love the variety that this box has – from the colors, to the finishes, to the holographic elements! Formulas are wonderful and I had no issues with any polishes. I think this box is a great collaboration that is definitely worth picking up!
