I,A.M… Custom Color Cosmetics Planet Express Collection

Hello Everyone! In this post, I’ll be sharing swatches of a Futurama inspired collection from a new-to-me indie brand, I,A.M… Custom Color Cosmetics!

This Limited Edition 7-piece collection titled “Planet Express” is available now, however, will not be restocked once it’s sold out!

All swatches were taken indoors under a combination of Cree daylight and LED bulbs using a Samsung NX300 camera.

“Woop, Woop, Woop”

Woop, Woop, Woop is a bright persimmon red jelly inspired by Zoidberg and his signature exit phrase. Shown here is three coats plus top coat. I had a slight visible nail line after the second coat so I added a third to cover it up. Formula is really great – very easy to apply and control!

“Yahoo! Y2K Topper”

Yahoo! Y2K Topper is a coppery orange to light pink metallic duochrome with added multichrome flakes and gold micro glitter. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. This polish is meant to be a topper that you can layer over red, white, or black but I just love it so much on its own! The finish is slightly streaky but that’s expected since it’s a metallic duochrome. Besides that, I had no issues with this polish. I love how multi-dimensional it is! The orange-pink shift is stunning as are the added elements.

“Yahoo! Y3K Grelly”

Yahoo! Y3K Grelly (glitter jelly) is the black jelly base of Yahoo! Y2K Topper. Both polishes were named after the phrase Fry says when he first comes out of the Cryo Freeze. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. The finish of this polish is slightly streaky due to the metallic effect but the jelly base helps mask this. This polish is quite unique and is one of my favorites from the collection!

“Shpluh!”

Shpluh! is a pink to magenta thermal with shimmers and holo magenta glitters of various shapes and sizes, including hearts and stars. This polish is based off of the character Amy who wears a pink sweat suit all the time even though she is a martian heiress. Shown here is three coats plus top coat. The formula is fantastic! My only issue is that it is a bit hard to pick up the larger glitters. To help with this, purchases of this polish will include a bag of glitters for placement.

I totally dropped the ball and didn’t realize this polish was a thermal until… well just now lol… so I don’t have photos of the transition. Luckily, other swatchers didn’t forget this so here is an awesome transition collage and brush shot by Shelseamagan. 🙂

“Heeya!”

Heeya! is a royal purple holo with iridescent and micro flakes. This polish was inspired by Leela and her hair and was named after her signature karate kick sound that she makes. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. It’s a little thick (because it’s packed full of flakes!) but is very easy to control and levels great! This polish is wonderful and I LOVE the added flakes!

“Bite My Shiny Metal A$$!”

Bite my Shiny Metal A$$! is chrome metallic ultra holo with flakies and is of course named after Bender and his favorite catch phrase. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. This polish also finishes with light visible brush strokes but I could care less because this polish is amazing! The ultra holo with metallic chrome finish and added flakies are basically perfection!

“Good News, Everyone!”

Good News, Everyone! is a mint green holo with added green flecks. It is inspired by the professor and the scrub-looking pj’s he always wears as well as his signature catch phrase. Shown here is three coats plus top coat. This polish is a little patchy during application but self levels very well. I love the mint green hue of this polish! Not only is it great for the theme of this collection, it’s great for the upcoming Spring season!

Overall Thoughts

I think this collection is done very well! The names, colors, and finishes are very reminiscent to Futurama which is great since it is a Futurama inspired collection 😛 I love it when a brand can pull off a variety of polishes and I, A.M… Custom Color Cosmetics is one of those brands. Overall, formulas were really nice! Any issues I had were expected due to the finish of the polish or very minor.

My picks from this collection are Heeya!, Bite My Shiny Metal A$$!, and Yahoo! Y3K Grelly.

As I stated above, the Planet Express collection is available now and can be purchased here. All polishes are priced at $10 USD with the exception of Woop, Woop, Woop which is $6.50 USD and Bite My Shiny Metal A$$! which is $11 USD. The full collection is currently on sale for $50!
