Hello everyone and happy Friday! Yay! 🙂 Today I have for you swatches of Polished by KPT’s two new thermals that are being added to their Basic Series collection! They will be available for purchase this Saturday, March 28th at 12pm.
Also being released are a high gloss finish top coat and base coat.

Fun fact: Polished by KPT was the first indie line I ever purchased from about two years back! So of course, I am very honored and excited to be swatching these polishes!!
All swatches were taken under indoor lighting and were top coated with Polished by KPT’s Don’t Faze the Glaze top coat. Accent nail watermarble was done with both thermals over a white base. Glitter center is the gorgeous Lumieres also by Polished by KPT!

Warm State
Calla is a crelly – part crème part jelly – thermal polish. It shifts from light emerald green when cold to yellowy green to blue when warm. Pictured is three coats with top coat. As with almost all Polished by KPT polishes, the formula is great! Application is effortless and smooth. It is very sensitive to temperature change – one second it was green the next it was blue! So much fun!

Amellia is another crelly thermal polish that shifts from amethyst purple when cold to lilac to periwinkle blue when warm. Pictured is two coats with top coat. Talk about the perfect polish for Spring! The purple and blue shades in this polish are flawless. Love!

Lay It Down Basecoat and Don’t Faze the Glaze Topcoat
Lay it Down basecoat (pictured right) is a fast-drying protective layer that maximizes color adhesion and eliminates staining. Don’t Faze the Glaze (pictured left) is a high gloss fast drying topcoat.
I tried out this system for about a day and half with Amellia before removing it. Lay It Down dried quickly to a slight rough texture which was new to me as the basecoats I use have a smooth finish. Upon applying Amellia, this rough texture disappeared. Don’t Faze the Glaze is thinner than the topcoats I normally use which made application easy. It is fast drying but not as fast as others on the market – I would say about 5 – 7 minutes maybe a little bit longer. During my wear time, I did not experience any chipping or shrinkage! Woo!
Overall Thoughts
Katherine is the thermal polish queen! If you love thermals, you need Amellia and Calla. Great formulas, quick dry time, beautiful color transitions, and they watermarble! In regards to the basecoat and topcoat, I am pleased with them based on the amount of time I had them on. I will be using them again and wearing the combination for a longer timeframe so that I can generate a more comprehensive review.
