Potion Polish Fourth of July 2016

Good evening! Tonight I have for you swatches of a 4th of July themed collection from a new-to-me indie Potion Polish! This collection consists of four holiday themed polishes which are available now. More details at the end of this post but first… swatches!! 🙂

All swatches were taken indoors under a combination of Cree daylight and LED bulbs using a Samsung NX300 camera.

“Dawn’s Early Light”

Dawn’s Early Light is a glowy white crelly with scattered holo and tiny silver flakes. Shown here is three coats plus top coat. I applied a fairly thin first coat requiring the third coat at the end but I’m sure you can get away with two if you apply a thicker first coat. The formula is very creamy and easy to apply & control. My photos do not do this polish justice – this is one that you have to see in person!

“Star Spangled”

Star Spangled is a clear scattered holo topper with a bright mix of coral, white and light blue holo glitter. Shown here is three coats plus top coat but it can also be layered over any polish is one easy coat. This polish has a fantastic glitter to base ratio and the glitters distribute fantastically! I love how the glitter mix isn’t your typical red, white, and blue – it gives the polish a unique twist!

“Liberty”

Liberty is a stunning cornflower blue creme with silver flakes and a touch of scattered holo. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. Formula is fantastic! So, so creamy – I could apply this all day long, seriously! Plus it’s a beauty to stare at 😉

“Family BBQ”

Last up is Family BBQ – a sparkling burgundy red scattered holo jelly with added holo flakes. Shown here is two coats plus top coat. I am SOOO in LOVE with this polish! Everything about this polish is perfect and everyone needs it – no exceptions!

Overall Thoughts

Whenever I’m trying new brands, there’s always a worry in the back of my mind that my expectations won’t be met. With Potion Polish, my expectations were not met… they were greatly exceeded! 😀

Fourth of July is one of those holidays that you find a lot of repetitive colors/collections, Potion Polish managed to stay away from that while still staying true to the holiday theme. I was very impressed with the collection as a whole as well as with the individual polishes. If you haven’t tried this brand before, what are you waiting for?!

My must-have picks are Family BBQ and Liberty!

As I mentioned earlier, this four piece collection is currently available now. You can find them here listed for $10 each with the exception of Star Spangled which is $9.50.
